Alana P | Buffalo Maternity Photographer

I met Alana through a network of friends through the gym, after messaging back and forth we were able to set a date to get together and do this shoot. I was excited that she agreed to be a maternity model for me and she did NOT disappoint at all! She was so laid back, relaxed, and let me have free reign with her session (I was squealing with joy).  Alana, at the time, was supposed to have her scheduled C-section in 5 days from the shoot. She was an absolute dream to work with and so easy to photograph (um hello gorgeous). I was able to capture her beauty and the glow she had radiating from her, she was pure heaven to photograph. This was the first time we had actually ever met, but I felt I was having out with a friend the entire time.  You could tell how happy/excited/anxious she was to find what her and her husband were having. Oh yeah the gender was unknown!!! Talk about getting the surprise of a lifetime! She didn’t end up having a scheduled C-section because Baby Cooper flipped the script (literally) on his/her parents. When it was time for Alana to check in for her scheduled delivery, one last ultrasound was given to ensure baby was still breach….umm…NOPE!  Baby Cooper turned right side up again (future gymnast or swimmer), so it was back to waiting game for Alana and her husband Bob.
6 days after her scheduled date for a C-section, they were able to finally meet and hold their beautiful son, Cooper! Alana will always hold a truly special place in my heart since she was my first maternity and a DREAM client on top of that. I left the session with the most amazing feeling of happiness and joy and a new friendship. I had to seriously call my best friends and rant and rave to them about the session I just did with Alana.  I cannot wait to see you guys again and bring more beautiful images of Baby Cooper!

Canalside | | Buffalo Portrait Photographer

I was browsing one of my many photography books and I saw this segment on teens and friendship.  I snapped a quick pic on my phone and sent it to my niece, Summer, and asked if she would be interested. Being a girl who doesn’t like to shy away from a camera, she could give Kim Kardashian a run for her money on her selfie game, she loved the idea! I asked her to gather up a few friends and we could do the session at sunset.  I was going to take them to a local park but she convinced me to take them down to Canalside.  Canalside is right along the water in downtown Buffalo, which they have revamped to make it more appealing to the community.  You can tour a naval ship, ride some water boats, dine outside on the pier, it’s a great location that’s very scenic and beautiful.  I took them at sunset because I wanted to capture those rich golden colors that look so great in portraits.  Plus it was the best time to leave my little ones at home with the hubby.
After a loud, rocking and singing your heart out car ride, we arrived to Canalside. We walked down near the water where they had these awesome stone walls that were like a mini maze.  It was so fun watching these girls act so goofy in some pictures, but they could flip it in a second and give some serious model face. Then we drove down further along the canal where there’s a giant stone wall that has tons of rocks, branches, and all things “sea like.” I think the most amusing part of all this was trying to get them up on the wall without falling into the water, and myself also.  These girls were so great. It definitely made me miss my high school friends, whom even 10 years later and 5,000 miles apart, we still have this amazing bond.  I told the girls to just have fun, be happy, and cherish this time in your lives. Because let’s face it, while being adult has its perks, I would love to be  a kid again, just for a day though.  They didn’t need much direction in how to pose or what angle is most flattering on their faces, they are masters of selfies.  It was fun for me to just watch them through my lens and capture the joy of their smiles.  I cannot wait to get them together again and take them to a new location to see what they give me next!  Summer Friends-19Summer Friends-51 Summer Friends-53 Summer Friends-82 Summer Friends-141 Summer Friends-142 Summer Friends-162 Summer Friends-189 Summer Friends-200 Summer Friends-215

        Max | 4 Months | | Buffalo Baby Photographer

This is Baby Max, I got the lucky chance of meeting him through is grandmother (Diane), who is this funny and awesome woman who I get to suffer with work out with at the gym. We share a common feeling of loathing  loving our time with our trainer, Cassidy.  Anyway, I told her about my passion for photography and I told her that I would love to do a session with her grandson.  She amazingly agreed and so we set a date! We did the shoot on Valentine’s Day in the morning, the lighting was perfect that’s to the sun hitting my snow-covered backyard and creating one big bounce card that gave awesome light in the kitchen.  It was a cold snowy morning and of course flu/cold season.  Max was pretty cooperative considering he was teething and just overall not feeling the best.  We started out with this gray blanket (Tuesday Mornings store) and covered my son’s PB Kids Anywhere chair. Max doesn’t sit up totally independently just yet but that’s what blankets and pillows are for! This little suit that he came dressed in was just the CUTEST thing on Earth! I’m a sucker for a man in a good suit 🙂 IMG_9763 IMG_9749 IMG_9732

After getting so many great shots of him in this ADORABLE suit, it was time to have some fun with some props and wraps.  But before we could do that though, Max HAD to eat 🙂 And just like how my boys were, he would not do anything else until that milk is G-O-N-E. Once he was nice a full, we placed him in this padded craft and used some wraps and faux furs.  This fur really made his baby blues just POP right off the screen and look even more gorgeous. He was very curious as to what we had him in and wanted to eat the wrap haha.  Like I said, he did an amazing job and was such a trooper! IMG_9831 IMG_9837 IMG_9836 IMG_9833

One of the last couple of shots I really wanted to get was with him and his mom (Grandma didn’t wanna join the fun this time). Here’s a couple with Kaylee and Max. You can just see the love in her eyes that she has for this little guy and who could blame her? Look at him! We also got some great shots of him and his super cute beanie bear hat that I had made just for him!  IMG_9804 IMG_9813IMG_9846 IMG_9838

Max decided that he wanted to wrap it up for the day, after all they babies are the boss. Plus this little boss was starting to really show us that he was done of the day.  Kayla dressed him and I just managed to squeeze in a couple more shots of him and this GINORMOUS  teddy bear that was gift for Valentine’s Day. Seriously this thing was as big as me! IMG_9855IMG_9852IMG_9854

I am so happy that they let me photograph Max, and that Kaylee wanted to do it every 3 months! I remember my first interaction with a baby photographer (Jessica Whittle) and how much she put me at ease and that I looked forward to seeing her every 3 months for JJ’s photo shoot. She inspired me into getting my Canon Rebel (3.5 years ago) and she continues to inspire me still with her photos. I am just so thankful that Max and his family took a chance on me. This experience really opened my eyes and gave me a much-needed confidence boost! Max will always have a special place in my heart!
