River Goddess | Buffalo Maternity Photographer

Sometimes you just have to brave the cold and get the shot.  It was a chilly fall day in Lancaster and I was meeting this gorgeous mama out for her second portion of her maternity session.  Kristi wanted to do a water session during the warmer months, but life was crazy busy at the time.  I asked if she was okay with the water being so cold at this time and she was definitely game.
If my client is up for the challenge that Mother Nature gives us I am 1,000% am too.  It was probably the most comical sight to see.  Two women (1 pregnant and  1 with a camera strapped to her body) walking into this cold water to do this shoot.  Kristi was sooooo AMAZING and BRAVE!!! The lighting was perfect, the scene was beautiful, Kristi looked GORGEOUS and the water was freezing. Everything just came together so perfectly on this day and I couldn’t be more happier with the results.  I will gladly do a shoot like this again, just maybe minus the cold water 🙂

Colson 3 Months + Surprise Proposal | Buffalo Baby Photographer

About a week ago, Steven (dad) called and told me that Jamie’s birthday was coming up and he wanted to do something special beforehand to surprise her.  He bought a ring and wanted to ask her to marry him. Jamie was expecting to get the ring for her birthday, which is later on this month. By doing it at the shoot, she would be totally surprised and completely shocked if he did it then.  Steven wanted to also incorporate Colson, their 3 month old son, into the proposal. Colson is a member of my Grow With Me Plan and he was due for his 3 month session. I told him I would call him back after I brainstormed a bit.  Couple hours later I called Steven and told him my idea. I suggested that Steven get a screen printed onesie that said “Will you marry my daddy?”. I would do some shots of all of the when we first get to the location, then I would suggest that Colson be changed into another outfit and that Steven would do it.  I would preoccupy Jamie while he was getting ready for the big moment. He could hide the onesie underneath a hoodie. H e loved it and couldn’t wait!
The big day came! We went to Como Park located in Lancaster.  I had Steven come scout out some locations with me while Jamie fed Colson. I asked him where he would like to propose and he chose the location that oversaw the creek. We started the session by a large tree that had beautiful colors and was shaded. Then it was time! I told Steven to go change Colson for his second outfit. Jamie and I went to the next spot and just did some practice shots, talked about how things were going and then here came Steven.
I was super nervous because Jamie started walking towards Steven, asking why he didn’t change Colson’s pants. I assured her it was fine and that I would see how it looked in camera. I took a couple shots with his hoodie still zipped up, then I asked Jamie to take off his hoodie.  As she started to unzip Colson’s hoodie, Steven started to walk behind her to get ready for his big questions.  Jamie read the hoodie as she unzipped it and then looked up and saw Steven down on one knee. Jamie was crying, Baby Colson was crying, and Steven was slightly shaking 🙂 The surprise went off perfectly!!!! Jamie said yes! They all gave each other kisses, hugs and wiped away tears of happiness. I even shed a couple tears that I secretly hid behind my camera ( I am a big softie and sucker for love). You know a surprise went super well when you get the “ugly/happy cry face”, which I did but will post on another day.
I am so thrilled that Steven asked me to be a part of his amazing surprise and that I was able to be there to capture the true moments of happiness, surprise and love. Congratulations again Jamie and Steven and Baby Colson!!! You guys make a beautiful family!!!

Beautiful as a rose | Delaware Park | Buffalo Maternity Photographer

Four no more! Kristi and Mark are expecting their precious little one in December! I was so thrilled when Kristi agreed to model for me when I told her about my photography. She is so stunning, pregnant or not, and seriously one of the sweetest women I have ever met. Like apple pie sweet. Her kids were so amazing too! Sienna and Hudson were so patient and great during our shoot! The Rose Gardens in Delaware Park is not only beautiful but it’s also pretty convent for family shoots thanks to the playground close by. We did family shots then let dad entertain the kids at the playground. Kristi and I did some more outfit changes with some help from grandma (Kristi’s mom). We got some stunning images! Take a look below!

        Colson | Buffalo Newborn Photographer

Baby Colson was such a sweet and sleepy little guy! He has the most gorgeous big blue eyes that are just like little pools of yumminess! Steve and Jamie are some of the sweetest people I could ever meet. I loved that they took my full advice to just sit back, relax and take a break while me and Colson hung out and did our shoot.   I can’t wait to see him and his parents back for our 3 month shoot, since mom signed Colson up for the Grow With Me Package! I cannot wait to see this little man grow up!

Charlotte Cake Smash | Buffalo Cake Smash Photographer

Little Charlotte celebrated one of her biggest milestones with me…turning ONE! This adorable little lady was not as interested in her cake too much. But I did get some of her biggest smiles when we had our cleanup/bath time. She absolutely loved all the bubbles and duckies that joined her. Mom (Kim) had her cute little onesie custom made to show off Charlottes love for Minnie Mouse and beautiful cake was made by an amazing lady named Angela, who I was introduced to thanks to Kim. This cake session was just so much fun to watch and shoot. I can’t wait for another one!
